Women's Basketball Heads to Muskingum on Wednesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team looks to snap a two-game losing skid when the Fightin' Quakers travel to Muskingum University for a 7:30 p.m. Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) on Wednesday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Muskingum. The Quakers are 9-10 overall and currently sit seventh in the OAC with a 4-8 record after a narrow 72-69 loss at the hands of the University of Mount Union on Saturday. The Fighting Muskies are 6-13 overall and have a 2-10 OAC record. Muskingum began the year 6-4, but have lost its last nine games including a 65-47 defeat to John Carroll University on Saturday.

The Coaches: Jerry Scheve is in his 28th season as head coach of the Wilmington women's basketball program. Scheve, who guided the Quakers to the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2004, has amassed over 450 career victories. Beth Fox has been the head women's basketball coach at Muskingum for 13 seasons. The 1998 Bluffton University graduate received a master's degree from Bowling Green State University in 2002.

The Players: Mackenzie Campbell leads the Quakers in scoring at 14.4 points per game while also grabbing 6.6 rebounds per contest, second best on the team, and dishing out a squad-high 2.8 assists per game. Emily Harman averages 6.8 rebounds per game while Savannah Hooper nearly averages double figures in scoring. The Muskie duo of Olivia Besancon and Alexandra Carson combined to score over 29 points per game. Dana Parkman grabs 8.1 boards per contest for Muskingum.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 65.4, Muskingum 64.0; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 68.3, Muskingum 68.7; field goal percentage – Wilmington 40.9, Muskingum 33.3; three-point percentage – Wilmington 33.5, Muskingum 28.5; free throw percentage – Wilmington 73.7, Muskingum 77.7; rebounds per game – Wilmington 41.1, Muskingum 40.4; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.72, Muskingum 0.72.

1,000-Point Club: Mackenzie Campbell became the 13th women's basketball player to score 1,000 career points as she crossed the plateau against Capital University earlier this month.

Recent History: Wilmington is 21-4 against Muskingum in the last decade. The Quakers have won the last seven meetings including a 67-60 triumph at Muskingum's Performance Court last season. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.

First Time Around: Wilmington defeated Muskingum 63-49 at Fred Raizk Arena on Jan. 10. The Quakers battled back from a double-digit deficit in the first half to claim the victory.
