@DubC_XCTR men take the ‘dub’ in season opener

NEW CONCORD- The Wilmington College Men's Cross Country team opened the 2017 season with a bang tonight at the Muskingum Invitational by finishing first out of the three competing teams.
  • Senior Hunter Stith (Batavia, OH/Batavia) hit the ground running this evening, leading the Fightin' Quakers, and the field, snagging the first-place overall spot with a time of 21:29.42 for the 6k race. This race was Stith's first since suffering season-ending injury early last (2016) season.

  • Freshman Ryan Honkamp (Maineville, OH/Little Miami) performed extremely well in his first ever collegiate race, crossing the finish line in fifth-place with a time of 22:22.08.
  • "I'm very pleased with how our team competed in the first meet of the year. We have some work to do, but I like the potential this team is demonstrating."
  • The Fightin' Quakers take on Thomas More College at home 6 p.m. Thursday.
