Men's Lacrosse Takes on Mount St. Joseph on the Road Tuesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team will travel to Mt. St. Joseph University in non-conference action on Tuesday, March 19.  The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington is coming off an overtime thriller against Adrian College winning by a score of 15-14. The Quakers will look to get to the .500 mark with a win against the Lions. Mt. St. Joseph is still searching for its first win of the season coming off a loss from the Hiram College Terriers.

The Coaches:  Jeff Arneson is in his first season as head coach of the Wilmington men's lacrosse program and has led the program to a 2-3 record so far. Arneson comes to Wilmington from a seven-year stint as a coach from Thiel College including six years as the head coach. While at Thiel, Coach Arneson took the team from a 2-12 record in his first year to a 10-5 record in 2015. In 2014, Arneson coached the Player of the Year in the President's Athletic Conference (PAC) while also winning coach of the year. Jason Susshine was tabbed as the next head coach for the lacrosse program at Mt. St. Joseph University in January.  Susshine comes to the mount after a successful stint as the boy's lacrosse coach at Turpin High School. Susshine was the head coach from 2010-2015, winning the Southern Ohio Boy's Lacrosse coach of the year award in 2012.

The Players: Wilmington's offense is led by senior Jhordan Land with his 15 goals on the season and Andrew Miller who has scored nine goals and assisted on four others. Defensively, Eric Wathen and Michael Aquaviva lead the team in caused turnovers with seven each. Jake Ladendorf is in goal for the Quakers and has 54 saves on the season. The Lions offense is paced by Jesse Purdy with nine goals and four assists on the season. Defensively, Cameron Mueller leads Mt. St. Joseph causing a team-high, nine turnovers on the year. Mike Well is in goal for the Lions totaling 97 saves on the season.
