AUSTINTOWN – The Ohio Athletic Conference announced the 2016 Fall Academic All-OAC selections, and 18 Wilmington College student-athletes were among the 302 student-athletes honored, the league announced today (November 16, 2016).
The football team had the most selections with five, led by senior David Henry (Wilmington, OH/Wilmington; Sport Management) with a school-high 3.99 grade point average. Juniors Luke Creditt (Wilmington, OH/Waynesville; Business Administration/History, 3.74), Sam Tedtman (Louisville, KY/Atherton; Sport Management/Athletic Training, 3.67), Ryan Prince (Urbana, OH/Urbana; Education/Spanish, 3.58) and Nick Lumbard (Amanda, OH/Amanda Clearcreek; Athletic Training, 3.57) rounded out the football selections.
Women's soccer also had five players, led by senior Taylor Scott (Lynchburg, OH/Lynchburg-Clay; Psychology/Social Work, 3.83). Sophomores Katie Evans (Leesburg, OH/Leesburg Fairfield; Athletic Training, 3.69), Hannah Greaney (Dayton, OH/Archbishop Carroll; Sport Management, 3.58) and Sarah Pierce (New Carlisle, OH/Dominion Academy; Sport Management, 3.57), along with senior Erika Good (Miamisburg, OH/Miamisburg; Athletic Training, 3.54) are the other honorees.
Senior Travis Scheadler (Goshen, OH/Goshen; Psychology, 3.97) leads three cross country athletes, followed by sophomores Matthew Baker (Liberty Center, OH/Liberty Center; Agriculture, 3.61) and Rick Pride (Mount Orab, OH/Western Brown; Biology, 3.52).
Three members of the men's soccer team earned the leagues academic honor – junior Nils Asteberg (Ojersjo, Sweden/Porthalla Gymnasium; Business Administration, 3.89), sophomore Jason Altmayer (Bethel, OH/Bethel-Tate; Business Administration, 3.83) and sophomore Zach Simpkins (Germantown, OH/Valley View; Exercise Science, 3.67).
Two volleyball players – senior Kara Short (Conover, OH/Fairlawn; Agriculture, 3.88) and junior Hannah Kockentiet (Alpha, OH/Dayton Christian; Political Science, 3.93) – rounded out the academic honors.
